As promised in the previous posts, we have created a glitter sandwich the use of Neon Jellies from China Glaze Summer Neon 2012 Collection! The two neon jelllies are China Glaze Under the Boardwalk & Ride the Waves! Before we move on to our combos, feel free to visit our swatches on the 2012 China Glaze Summer Neons!
For our glitter sandwich we have decided to use Lynnderella's awesome glitter creations, Happy Holo Daze and Shape Shifter to see how those shiny eye catching glitters would turn out under this dark jellies. You can definitely use other type of glitters, but we would recommend you to use multicolored glitters of any shapes and sizes (Ranging from bar glitters, micro glitters, hexagonal, square, etc) for your glitter sandwich to ensure that the combination turns out nicely the way you want! Try to avoid using single color glitters, unless they are in contrast with the jellies shade you have used!
Are you ready with some of the layering combos we have used for the the blue and grape jellies?!
*Take note that one coat of the neon jellies was used for both the base and final layer of all the combos in this post.
Index & Middle Finger: China Glaze Under the Boardwalk,
Ring & Pinky Finger: China Glaze Ride the Waves
Lynnderella's Happy Holo Daze applied over one coat of CG's Under the Boardwalk on the middle finger with just one coat. While 2 coats of Happy Holo Daze was applied over CG's Ride the Waves on the ring finger finger, followed by a thin coat of Ride the Waves. The combination reminds us of the pretty Christmas lights that are hanged outside those houses, with green, blue, red and white lights.
The next glitter we used to layer on our index and pinky finger is another Lynnderella's glitter creation, Shape Shifter. For both nails we simply applied 2 coats of Shape Shifter. Dont the combination reminds you of Lava lamp?
Below is a break down of how we create our jelly sandwich mani!
1. Apply a jelly/ sheer polish with 1- 2 coats, leave it dry before moving on to the next step.
2. Apply 1 - 2 coats of glitter OR dap the glitters on your nails if you want to have more glitters.
3. Let them dry for a minute to prevent the glitters from running around while you apply the final coat of jelly/sheer polish.
4. Ensure that you apply a thin layer of the polish to ensure that the glitters can still be seen!
5. Finish your sandwich with a coat of top coat--> Seche Vite, Our preferred top coat!
Which combo do you like best?
Are there Jelly Sandwich you hope to see us posting about?:)
