Rescue Beauty Lounge!

Hello Polisholics!

First of all before we start posting, we are so glad that through this blog we are able to meet quite a handful of other polisholics in Singapore! Most of them that Inky have met so far do share the same problem, which is we have friends that dont understand why are we so crazy about polishes, and what so great about it?! HAHA, its quite a joke isnt it? hahas, yet Inky are so glad to know and befriend with all these lovely polisholics!

Look what we got in our mail box! Rescue Beauty Lounge's BIB2 orders! YEAH! We ordered them during the presale somewhere in October!

Founded by a South Korean Lady, name Ji. She moved to the States at the age of 12 with her family, and have a wonderful journey of life before starting out this line. Ji her own blog, which talks about her food adventures, the books she read, etc.

RBL's Polishes
Created with resin and high molecular polymers to improve flexibility, durability and high shine. B3F Free, and no products are tested on animals. Price is 18USD per bottle of polishes.

Packaging
Definitely love their packaging, the polishes are well protected with 2 layers of bubble wrapped. Before putting the polishes into the bubblewrap, the polishes are separated from one another by a cute box!
Even though to some it may not seem to be friendly to the environment, but we guess that its up to us how we, as consumer want to reuse all those packaging that we have received in order to prevent them from being wasted!

Before mentioning more in depth about the RBL polishes and the prices, lets take a look at how delicately the orders are wrapped! Inky love to take pictures of our polishes order, as we want to share with every single one of the polisholics, how thoughtful and caring are those ladies(people) wrapping up our orders. As it was our first time ordering from RBL, we requested for our orders to be bubble wrapped, so that those polishes would be able to reach our doorstep safely.

*Tip: Whenever you want to order any polishes overseas, double check with the way the orders are wrapped by contacting the site. It would be great to get them to bubble wrap your orders, as you may not know what will happen while your parcel travels all the way to Singapore. Better safe than sorry!

Ji not only bubblewrap our orders, but with two layers!

Look at the beautiful paper used to wrap all our five BIB2 orders!
Gosh, Shiying has already taken it to reuse for scrap booking!

Its so thoughtful and sweet of Lara & Ji to reply our customer note:)
Definitely like sites and 'boss' who personally thank their customer to make them feel appreciated:)

we ordered five polishes from the BIB2 orders, are you guessing what did we get?
Stay tuned~

The limited edition bottles which are sold during the BIB2 orders are packed in this crimson red boxes.
We certainly love this packaging, its so easy to put our tiny little accessories inside before placing them in our handbags to bring them around!
Does this box reminds you of those boxes that were used to package those miniature version of those perfumes from Lancome, Estee Lauder, etc?

Want to make a guess what color is this?
Answer: Scrangie!

The usual colors that can be found in stores are packed in the mint green boxes.
5 polishes that we got are Mismas & Scrangie from BIB2, Purple Haze, Bikini Bottom and Piu Mosso from their current in store collections

Say hello to Scrangie!

Index & Ring Finger: Scrangie

Scrangie is designed and name after by Scrangie, a well known nail swatcher and reviewer, its a blueish purple based mixed with some blue and greenish shimmer. In this picture it looks more of a purple base, but outdoor under the sun it appears to be more blue. The shade was first introduced in 2009 and went out of stock on numerous occasions but came back instock again due to popular and high demand! Now its back in stores again! Hurry grab a bottle of it, before it runs out again! Get Scrangie here!

Middle Finger & Pinkey: Mismas
Love the application process of Mismas, it was definitely easier that using OPI Funkey Dunkey! The formula of the color was just as good as the application. Like Scrangie, Mismas was created by another nail reviewer and blogger, ALC. This was created for RBL's Fall 2009 collection, Mismas (Miss-mas) is a purple creme base, slightly lighter than OPI Funkey Dunkey. Personally, we felt that RBL's creme polishes seems easier to apply compared to the others nail polish brand we tried so far. Even thought, there were bald spots and streaks on the first coat, everything was flawless after applying the second coat! This polish definitely made us addicted to creme polishes again!
Definitely cant wait to use RBL Creme polishes soon!

Look at the sticker that Ji has pasted on the bottles, love Ji:)
Gosh this is definitely a nice sticker note for your consumers;D

Hmm, Are you able to guess what did we use for layering over our Ring Finger and Pinkey?:)
Yeaps, its Orly Fowl Play:D
Inky love layering Orly Fowl Play over anything that would goes well with it;D
Are you able to see how Fowl Play has turned out after layering over the different purple shades?

Ring Finger: Fowl Play over Scrangie,
Fowl Play has cover Scrangie's shimmers, but its definitely lighter than the outcome of layering fowl play over Mismas:)
Pinkey: Fowl Play over Mismas
Hmm, seems like you would know how your Fowl Play will turn out after being layered over some dark and deep purple polishes!

Which combination would you pick?
Fowl Play with Mismas or Scrangie?
Inky loves the combination with Scrangie!

Be my lady for this holiday

Hello Polisholics,

this shade might have been reviewed time and again by numerous swatchers already, but here is Inky's:)
Not to worry we will not be talking too much about it, just pictures!
Adina from A England gave this beauty a pretty name,

Lady of The Lake- the iconic with sword
(Foster mother of Lancelot) a woman of great magical power. She resided in the murky water of a lake, an otherworld. She presented the mythical sword Excalibur to King Arthur with her hand emerging from the water.

The subtle holographic scattered evenly in this dark purple shade is such an elegant color for a Christmas party.Just like Tristam, this bottle of A England never fail to win our heart once again, love the formula and application, it dries quite fast:) We remembered reading somewhere that purple is a color that represents royalty, Lady of the Lake has definitely fulfilled this role!
One of our cousin's borrowed this shade from us and she got so many compliments at from both her clients and family:)

What do you think about this pretty Lady:)

Check out A England's awesome polish pairing, MERRY CROWNS!
We love this red background for all these pretty Merry Crowns,
it seems like the different mythicals are walking under the spotlight of the red carpet!
The Merry Crowns have a cute pairing are name after holiday dates!
Can you figure what each date means?:)
Hurry get your own Merry Crowns now for both yourself and your friends<3
before it ends on 6 January 2012!

OPI Cuckoo For This Color

Hello Polisholics,

Please bear with us with the writing style as we are still trying to figure out which type of writing style would be the best and the most convenient way for readers to read about the polish we are reviewing and sharing. Please feel free to provide us feedback and comments for us to improve!

About the Nail Polish
Brand: OPI
Collection: Swiss Collection Fall 2010
Color: Cuckoo For This Color
Application: Smooth, but we had some bald spot with the first coat. It was alright after applying the second and third coat.

Inky's Thoughts
As green are both our favourite color, this is our first time trying a dark green shade so we decided to opt for something sheer and shimmery, instead of the creme type. Under certain angle you are able to see slight blue-ish green sparkle, sometimes the green would be appear to be teal. The combination of this dark green with some sparkles give the polish a metallic green finish.
One of us thought that this polish seems to be a forest green. Now we know which green would come in handy for our nails during Christmas!

Where did we get this
D.Y.O.N International, who sells authentic OPI $10/bottle and Chinglaze Polishes at $8/bottle. You are also able to find other nail treatments, like top & base coats, nail polish remover, dotting tool, etc.

OPI & Nubar

Hello Polisholics!

Today we will showing you the layering effects of Nubar's Treasure and Absolute from their Prism Collection released in 2009 over OPI's Funkey Dunkey and What's With the Catittude from the Shrek Forever After Collection which was released in 2010.
As Nubar Treasure and Absolute are quite sheer to be used by themselves. The both of us decided to play around with some of our existing polishes, we decided to try layer Nubar Prism over some pastel creme shades.

Index Finger: Nubar Treasure
For this finger, we used up to 4 coats to achieve this outcome. The polish is quite sheer and opaque you would need to apply quite a few coats. Love the scattered holographic of this polish, dont you think it will look pretty on any little girls?

Ring Finger: Nubar Absolute
Another sheer holo from Nubar Prism Collection, 3 coats was applied for this swatch. In some occassion it looks a little light green but most of the time its just a pretty baby blue holo. Like Nubar Treasure, Absolute another a scattered holo.

Ring Finger: Nubar Treasure over OPI Whats With the Cattitude?
With the holo layering, Nubar Absolute has give OPI WWC a pretty holo custom, letting it shine and sparkle under the sun. This layering definitely brighten up our day, be it on a sunny or rainy day!

Middle Finger: Nubar Treasure layer over OPI Funkey Dunkey
With OPI FD as a base, it gives the finishing a deep purple color. No longer, sheer or opaque, giving a brand new look for this pretty purple holo!

So which layering would you prefer?:)

Pampering time for Inky!

Hello Polisholics!

We would like to share with everyone Cheeying's first experience and appointment with Nailartexpress at Scape's Flea yesterday. The both of us kind are never good with nail art, but we have been looking forward to try some nail art at an affordable rate since we are still studying and spent majority of our savings to feed our polish addictions! After looking through Nailartexpress gallery and her facebook page, Cheeying has been literally stocking their website and her page to get a slot yesterday!

About Nailartexpress and the founder
Ying is the awesome sweet lady behind this site, her love affair with nail art started from her frequent visits to the nail saloons to try out all designs before deciding to create them with her own experiments. In 2010, she graduated with a Diploma from Pink Room, the best nail school in Singapore.

Where can you find her?
She provide nail services at flea market, or at her home based salon in Bukit Batok.

Her Stash
Click here to see whats available

Things to take note before booking an appointment
She provides appointment based on her availability, as this is not her full time job. Her time slots are stated at the bottom right corner of her site. If you would like to get your slot with her, please keep your eyes stuck to her site!
Please read every single detail provided on her site, as we dont wish anyone one of you to commit the same mistakes as Cheeying had. By overlooking details that she had already stated clearly on her site, causing irrelevant inconveniences to this nice lady.

Lastly, we would like to apologise to Ying for all the inconveniences and troubles we had created while we tried to arranged an appointment with you. We really appreciate your kind understanding and forgiveness!

Cheeying had requested for a russian doll nail art for our first session with her!:) It was my first time having my nails done at the flea market, so the feeling was kind of scared and excited. Walked quite a few rounds inside the flea, as I was looking for the booth! Decided to go around walking, as they were still setting up their booth!

Duration
It was an express manicure, so it was done within less than an hour:) However, the entire nail art was not done in a rush, she was really focused on ensuring that every detail of the Russian Doll was drawn well and not done in a rush. So please dont worry about getting a rushed out nail art from her!

Cost
As mentioned it was an express manicure, its $22 for both hands, inclusive of the acrylic ribbon on both thumbs.

Cant wait for the next appointment!

Below are our morphing powders bought from Cathy, Morenailpolish. If you are interesting in getting some too, please click on the above link! It took around 2 to 3 weeks to arrive from Australia!

Fire up with BLAZE!

About Blaze
Blaze are made in the USA, their nail lacquers are one fabulous color indoors, and the color changes immediately once its exposed to sunlight/UV rays. Their new collection of Bright color, features a spectrum of awesome vibrant hues, spanning from hot pink to ever green. In their site, it states that it works all four seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. Seems like people in Singapore does not have to worry about not seeing any effects here
Personally, we are unsure what defines being the world's best UV Color Changing Nail Polish, but Blaze is definitely the world's 1st Color Changing Nail Polish

The bottle and the brush
The bottle is similar to Color Club's in an upright rectangle bottle, containing 13.3ml worth of polishes. Due to the frosty nature of the polishes, we got bald spot and streaks on the first coat. However, after we applied 2- 3 coats, everything was still acceptable:)

Where to get them
Meimei's Signatures has recently been the official Singapore's stockist for Blaze, and has brought in some of Blaze collections. You can find Blaze's Brights Color and Glitz Madison Collection, along with Blaze Nail Care treatments in her store. The price range for the overall products are $12.90 for Blaze's Nail Care and $15.90 for the Blaze's Brights Color and Glitz Madison Collection!
*All prices stated here are inclusive of free normal postage within Singapore.

Presenting Blaze's Shimmery Sand transforming into Seashell Pink under the blazing sun!
Can you see how the sun is changing the polish color from the polishes around the bottle? Blaze Seashell Pink can be found surrounding the bottles, but Blaze Shimmery Sand is still flowing inside the bottle remains unchanged:) Can't wait to see how the polishes change on nails?

Here you go!
Blaze Shimmery Sand
(Indoors under artificial light)
Shimmery Sand is a bright yellowish gold, the finishing was quite frosty and a little uneven. However, the problem will be solved upon applying one coat of Seche Vite Top Coat!:)

Thank god it was sunny on the way home from class, decided to stay under the scorching Sun at a park near our house to see how long will it take to change. As the nails were under direct sun exposure, it took less than a few minutes to see the change! Our friends who sat together with us said, 'Gosh, look at the Peachy Pink lacquer on your nails! From yellow gold to peachy pink! Its simply cool!' Hmm is their words enough to prove the goodness of this polish? If its not enough, let us give you a piece of advice if you would wish to see the transformation, never stare at the polish change. Try to take a photo of how it look like when you first applied them indoors, then compare the photo with your nails after letting them 'tan' under the sun!

Below is a comparison of the polishes before and after they went under the sun!

Be ready to join the Cult!

Inky Polisholicious is proud to present our first belated swatch and review from Cult Nails! Thanks to Polish Mumsy, we were able to get our hands on Cult Nails' Enigmatic and Hypnotize me!

About Cult Nails and the founder
Founded by Nail Blogger, R3 Daily, also known as Maria Morrison. Since little, she loved nail polishes and anything that was related to it, she also knew that some day in the future she would work in the nail industry. Before starting Cult Nails, whenever she was unable to find the color she wants, she would mix colors together to make sure that she the shade.  R3 Daily, was founded in early 2010, as her passion for polishes grew, she decided to develop a line of polishes that doesnt only follow the trends but also infuse in them to create the way for more innovative polishes for the polisholics! She has also ensured that Cult Nails is a green company where the polishes in stores are B3F, Free from Toulene, Free from Formaldehyde and Dibutyl, also Free from Phthalate and Camphor. Being a Cruelty Free company, the Vegan friendly polish uses only recycled and reusable materials to pack their orders.

Continue to read below to see how thoughtful and environmentally friendly, Maria and her family is!
We use only recycled boxes to ship our polish that can be reused or recycled by the consumer and utilize cotton balls for our packaging materials. This not only allows the polish to be protected during shipment, but supplies our customers with some of the materials  needed to remove their old polish once our product arrives! The cotton ball initiative, as we like to call it, was a concept from Maria's 12 year old daughter.
- Cult Nails

Where to get them?
Meimei's Signature is Singapore's Stockist for Cult Nails. Each bottle of polish is sold at S$13/bottle, inclusive of free local mailing within Singapore. She also ships internationally.
Cult Nails sells them at 10USD/bottle of polish, 8USD/bottle of treatment. Free international shipping is provided to purchases above 75USD!

Here is the burritos from Maria! She wrapped the polishes up with layers of crepe paper, ensuring that your polishes reaches your doorstep safely! Now you dont have to worry about receiving damaged polishes!
*PS We love that label so much!

Our first polish from Cult Nails!
Enigmatic belonging to one Cult Nails' Hypnotic Collection

Enigmatic is a deep plum purple color with a certain hint of brown shades under different angles and lighting, with a mixture of micro silver glitter. The micro glitter isnt very dense in this polish, thus, its appears more obvious under the sun

Awakening was given to us by Susan from TheSubtleShimmer. We were so close to purchasing Awakening from the local stockist, when Susan offer us a bottle as Maria had resent her orders, when she has yet to receive her orders for a month. However, both of them agreed that if Susan manages to receive both the orders in the end, Susan would share the love with other Polisholics! Inky felt so honoured to be one of them to receive their love!

Awakening is also part of belongs to Cult Nails' Hypnotic Collection,
Application: 1st coat was quite uneven, quite a few bald spots, quite streaky, but things changed after applying the 2nd coat, followed by the third! The finishing was smoother and more glossy than we expected! We simply love this teal jelly!

Under the Flash, Awakening is an awesome teal color shining in the lights for attention

However, under artificial lighting Awakening looks more like dark jade color

After wearing Awakening for a week, there wasnt a single chip off on our nails, we decided to add some layering over our current nails.

Index Finger: Cult Nails Hypnotize Me (From Cult Nails' Hypnotic Collection)
What else could you say with this combination, dont you think its just so awesome! The combination made the finishing look like the ocean waters glistering under the sun. If you plan to use Hypnotize Me by itself, its a sheer light green glittery polish. It might not be able to stand out alone, but when its used for to layer over other polishes, the outcome would never fail to surprise you!

Middle Finger: Ozotic 521
Does this layering reminds you of Enigmatic? Similar but definitely not a dupe, as this Ozotic Multichrome would appear to be purple and blue under different lighting!

Ring Finger: Ozotic 504
Awakening was given a new code of a purplish blue layer with Ozotic 405 layered over it, it has completely covered Awakening's original color.

Pinky Finger: Ozotic 505
The outcome gave Awakening a shimmery green touch. Even though a multichrome layering was added over Awakening, its hard to notice the multichrome effects of Ozotic 505 under artificial lighting.
