Busy with School

Hello there,

In case some off you are wondering where have we gone to, since its been almost two weeks since we last posted! The only few things that would keep us busy and away from blogging would only be work and studies, unless laziness got into us! But right now we have been swamped with assignments and never ending stacks of reading! But we those things definitely never stopped us from enjoying polish! Things were not that well too, since Charmy had to be away on detachment. I know that 3 weeks cant be compared to those US veterans who are posted in certain parts of the world for more than 6 months or a number of years. 3 weeks are nothing, but Im so sorry but I cant help but miss him:) hehes.

In case some of you are wondering what we have been doing, below are some nail swatches we have posted on Instagram along with our nail hauls from Beauty Asia 2013, which just ended two days ago!

Gloss n Sparkle Blue Monday

Those of you who have followed us on Instagram, would have already noticed that Charmy is away on detachment for 3 weeks but he would return on 9 March. Time flies, but I just cant help missing him. Thus, it explained the 'blues' on my nails. Since he was away, the colors on my nails revels my mood. I have been applying really light or pastel shades. This blue might be a little to bright, I wore it a few days before deciding to wear something lighter which was better in expressing my current mood for Charmy's absence;p

Crowtoes Bone Daddy

Polish haul from Beauty Asia, there are more to the haul but I am alittle lazy in uploading the photos! HAHA, those Nfu Oh Jellies were on sale at $10/bottle while the Aqua base coat was only $15/bottle! Who cares about saving money when they are on sale at such good deals? Oh those Misa polishes were only $5/bottle!

Valentine's Day Mani with an accent nail, since Charmy wanted me to have my accent nail painted when I asked him if I should have a different polish on the ring or middle finger!

Recently, we have a #SGSwatchfest on Instagram organised by Susan from TheSubtleShimmer and @Ahpohxin! So the first polish theme was Femme Fatale Cosmetics' Water Hyacinth!

Hope you enjoy this quick and short post, we promise that we will return to blogging as soon as possible! In the mean time please dont forget to follow us on Facebook @Inky Polisholicious, Instagram @Inkyinkgirls and on Twitter @Inkyinkgirls!

See you around!

Gloss n Sparkle 3D Glasses Included

Hello~

Its the 2nd day of Chinese New Year today, Happy Lunar New Year to everyone who celebrates the Chinese New Year! Yeah, to be honest this post was scheduled sometime back. But we thought that since we have a number of new awesome Aussie Indie Polishes, which we managed to snag from the local stockist Shoppe Eclecticco and some from our lovely Aussie friend, Natalia<3  Thus, today we have 3D Glasses Included for the festive season, its a red jelly packed with blue and white hexagon glitters along with some micro glitters and maybe tiny bar glitter and shards. Application was easy, I had no issues with the formula from the first coat. I used 2 coats here for full capacity, but this polish is also a 1 coater! I didnt use any topcoats for the swatches below, as it dries up with a squishy jelly finishing!

What are your thoughts about this Limited Edition polish from Gloss and Sparkle?:)
This was one of our first Gloss n Sparkle shades when we first purchased it,
the other one we had purchased together with this was Witches Britches.
What was the first Gloss n Sparkle polish you own?:)

KBShimmer No Whine Left

Hey,

Today I have an overdue polish to share with you. My first dark polish from KBShimmer, No Whine Left. It was the first dark polish shade I have purchased from Harlow. I have used 3 coats for the swatches below. Photos were taken under artificial white light!

It was an interesting combo to have dark maroon base color and blue glitters to be swimming around the polish. It was a color that would not usually catch my eye, but this combination was different from usual. What about you?
What type of shades dont usually catch your eyes,
but there happened to be a polish out there that managed to get your attention?

Enchanted Polish Sour Patch Kid

Hey,

Wanting to see a different shade of holo? What about an orange holo? Yeah, today we have Enchanted Polish Sour Patch Kid to share with you! Sadly this pretty orange holo polish aint available anymore, what a pity! Since Chinese New Year is round the corner, we thought that it would definitely be nice to share an orange holo with everyone, it might not be suitable for everyone as it might have the end result of lobster fingers!

2 coats were used for the following swatches, taken under artificial white light.

Dont the shade reminds you of Mandarin orange?;p

If this is still available, I would highly recommend everyone to give this orange holo a go no matter what, since we hardly come across such a beauty.  In the mean time for those who are staying in Singapore, you can purchase Enchanted Polishes from our local stockist at Meimei's Signatures. Even though she may not have Awesomeness in stocks, but please do check back from time to time to see if she has stocks for this awesome polish. At the moment, she has the most recent polishes in stores retailing at $20 SGD.

Gloss n Sparkle Witches Britches

Hey,

Today, we are so happy to be able to share with you one of our first Gloss n Sparkle polish, Witches Britches. It is a limited edition shade we managed to grab from the local stockist for Aussie Indies, Shoppe Eclecticco before it was out of stock, it might be restocked again during this year's Halloween. So please keep your eyes stucked to Shoppe Eclecticco Fb page or Gloss n Sparkle's Fb page to keep yourself updated!

The application for this polish was really easy and smooth, I had no problem with the formula. Three coats were used for the swatches without any topcoat. Witches Britches, has black, orange and green hexagon glitters. There are both tiny and big size for the hexagon glitters swimming in this purple polish. Love the combination of this polish, the colors of those glitter just reminds me of a Pumpkin!

Photos below are with a layer of topcoat.

What a beauty.

Butter London Brummie

Hey,

Say hello to our first locally purchased Butter London Brummie! Its matte finish funky purple polish, which we purchased from Luxola during their buy 2 get 1 free promotion launch for the brand on their site! Definitely wish that they could continue to have such an awesome promotion whenever they bring in new shades or collection, as we would be really glad to expand our tiny Butter London collection through such a promotion!

I bought Brummie when I was still in madly in love with such funky purple shades, but it was really upset and unfortunate to say that due to some personal issues and reasons, this shade of purple reminded me of the unhappiness I had with a friend, to the extend that the sight of this shade would unknowingly rekindle the hurt and disappointment I went through. Sounds really dramatic and emotional right? Sorry purple fans, I am still trying to not let purple get into the way of the issue and continue to like purple. But it was really hard for me to avoid polishes that has such pretty purple shades but would also remind me of the past. Still I am not ready to give up such shade of purple for an issue that aint worth the sacrifice.

Sorry about the rant, back to Brummie! Its a bright funkey purple that dries with a matte finishing, the application was not an issue but it leaves unsightly streaks when it dries up, 3 coats were used for the following photos taken under artificial white light.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Piu Musso

Hey there,

Wishing everyone a belated happy new year! How's everyone doing for the brand new year? Has everything begin well or was it a rocky one? Well, we definitely hope things will still change for the better for everyone! I could still remember how sick I was a year ago, welcoming 2012 with a bad sore throat and cough. Even though this year wasnt as good as I hoped for, it was definitely better than being sick.

Today, I have Rescue Beauty Lounge Piu Musso to share with you. This pretty polish was left neglected and forgotten in my untried stash until RBL had their BiB4, then I remembered that I have this shade in my stash. Without further delay, I decided to let my nails be exposed to such dark colors... They have been too comfortable with the usual shades, pastels, light and bright colors. It was after trying on to this shade, my nails have grown more fond to the dark side. It was also this shade that ignited the love for dark shades!

Piu Musso is a very dark indigo shade that contains brownish bronze and orange shimmer, which I had a hard time trying to capture them on camera. But in person, the shimmer is more obvious to the naked eye. 2 coats were used for this swatch, I had no problem with the application, it was smooth~

Only managed to capture the bottle shot of shimmers in the polish under yellow light!

My nails enjoyed being on the dark side ever since, even though they still responds to their pastel calling hehes.
